Announcing Lyric Opera of Orange County’s 3rd Annual High Note Vote: An Operatic Competition! High notes? Low notes? Bring them all! Singers will compete for our $500.00 Grand Prize as well as some gifts and surprises for our runners up. Winners will be determined by online audience vote, as well as votes from our panel of judges and company administrators. This year, the first round of auditions will be held ONLINE via video submission! All competitors will have their videos shared to our competition page, as well as our social media. To participate, all applicants must be available for the LIVE finals concert on Sunday April 26, 2020 at 7:00 pm

When:
•Submission deadline – Wednesday April 01, 2020 by 11:59 PM
•Voting will be open Sunday April 05, 2020 at 12:01 AM through Saturday April 11, 2020 at 5:00 PM. Finalists will be announced Monday April 13, 2020.
•Finals will be held on Sunday April 26, 2020 at 7:00 PM (Audience tickets on sale starting April 2020)

Where:
The Grand Finals Concert will be held in the Fiesta Room at the Lago Santa Margarita Beach Club, 21472 Avenida De Los Fundadores, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688. Wine and refreshments served; 35 tickets available. No location restrictions for online voting for the preliminary round April 5-11 2020.

Who may apply:
Singers should have completed at least two and a half years of vocal study. All competitors must reside primarily in Southern California. All entries will be screened and we will select up to 50 singers to compete in the preliminary round. Up to six finalists will be chosen for the Live Grand Finals Concert in Rancho Santa Margarita. To apply, email auditions@lyricoperaoc.org with the information listed below. Please specify ‘2020 HIGH NOTE VOTE ENTRY’ in the email subject line. Your video submission must be an aria from the standard operatic repertoire. No musical theatre. Deadline for entry is Wednesday April 01, 2020 by 11:59 PM. Include:
•your complete contact information, including email, cell phone, and physical mailing address
•a copy of your resume with headshot (pdf preferred), and 50-100 word bio
•a video made within the last 12 months of an aria performance with piano accompaniment (no orchestra videos), including the title, opera, and composer. By submitting this video you understand that it will be shared online across any/all Lyric Opera OC social media platforms and websites.

Entry fee:
There is a $20.00 entry fee, only due at the time your submission has been approved. The entry fee must be paid in full by Friday April 3, 2020 before the voting goes live or you will not be included in the competition.
