Seeking dynamic, collaborative artists for classic opera, contemporary works, and crossover repertoire. All roles are open. Southern California local singers encouraged to apply. Apply by June 10 to sing live on June 22 or 23, 2026.
Lyric Opera of Orange County – General Audition Notice (2026–2027 Season)
Lyric Opera of Orange County invites submissions for its 2026–2027 season, and beyond. All roles are open.
Productions under consideration include works like or similar to:
- Rossini’s La Cenerentola
- Verdi’s Macbeth
- Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors
- Cipullo’s Glory Denied
- Leigh’s Man of La Mancha
- Donezetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore
Audition Information
- Location: St. John’s Episcopal Church, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
- Singers should indicate preferred audition times; official audition schedule will be sent by June 10, 2026
- Audition slots: 6–8 minutes
- Please prepare 3 arias (panel may not hear more than one)
- Callbacks for specific roles will be scheduled individually or through video submission
Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Submit headshot and current résumé
- We are currently prioritizing singers local to Southern California (within driving distance to rehearsals). Non-local singers may submit a virtual audition, but local casting will be prioritized
Production Details
- Rehearsals: Central Orange County
- Performances: Irvine, Brea, and San Clemente (depending on production)
- Ensemble: Chamber orchestra
- Compensation: $750–$1,500 per role
- Production schedules are typically 4-5 nights per week for 2 weeks.
