Yewon Ella Yoon, soprano, recently performed as Krysia in Two Remain with Lyric Opera of Orange County and Violetta in La Traviata with Pacific Lyric Association. Notable performances include First Lady in Die Zauberflöte with the Incheon Symphony Orchestra,  Servilia in La clemenza di Tito at CCM, and Le Fue in L’enfant et les Sortilèges with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. She also sings with LA Opera Chorus, LA Master Chorale and Pacific Chorale. Yoon holds degrees from Chung-Ang University and Korea National University of Arts and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at the University of Cincinnati.

Chelsea Seener Gornall is a San Diego native and is excited to be covering Monica and Mrs. Pinkerton, and singing Suor Dolcina with LOOC in their 2024-2025 season. She was last seen singing First Lady (Genesis Opera) in 2024 and with San Diego Opera Chorus for their 2022 & 2023 seasons. Previous roles include Micaela in Carmen (PLA) Nella in Gianni Schicchi (Pittsburgh Festival), the title role in Cendrillon (New York Lyric), Beatrice in Béatrice et Bénédict (Asheville Lyric), Servilia in La clemenza di Tito (Chicago Opera), Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (HPAF), and Abigail Williams in The Crucible (Miami Music Festival). Chelsea received her MM from Boston University performing as Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte and Holy St. Francis’ Trainer in Vinkensport. Chelsea received her BM from SDSDU where she sang Monica in The Medium and Pamina in The Magic Flute. She has been a featured young artist throughout the USA and has sung internationally in six different countries.

Carly Cummings, praised for her ringing soprano sound, is excited to be making her Lyric Opera of Orange County debut as Sister Genovieffa in Suor Angelica. She was recently named a scholarship winner with the Musical Merit Foundation of San Diego. Notable performances in recent seasons include La Cugina with the San Diego Opera, Soprano Soloist with the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus, Pamina with Music on Site, Magda with Peabody Opera Studio, and Berta with Opera Neo.

Lily Berthold, soprano, was the 2024 first prize winner of the SAI PAC Aria Competition. Notable performances from 2023-2024 include: Adina (L’elisir D’amore) with Woodley Concert Corner, Valencienne (The Merry Widow) with Mission Opera, Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica) with Guild Opera, & Pamina (Zauberflöte) with Landmark Opera. Lily is currently obtaining her Master’s of Music at California State University Long Beach, graduating in 2026. Jessica Gonzalez-Rodriguez, Mexican-American Mezzo-Soprano, “A particular highlight” (Operawire), recently made her Carnegie Hall Debut, performing selections from Carmen and Madama Butterfly with the Vincerò Academy. She is a multiple Opera Buffs grant recipient. Notable performances from the past few seasons include “Toypurina” in Zorro with Opera Santa Barbara, “Norma” in the World Premiere of Carla Lucero’s Chicanisima! and “Marcellina” in Le Nozze di Figaro for the International Summer Opera Festival of Morelia. Mariah Rae (soprano) is thrilled to be part of her second LOOC production! She most recently sang as Gianetta in Don Bucefalo with Pacific Opera Project, as well as with N.E.O. Voice Festival through the Resonance Collective, Overtone Industries, and has made several appearances with the GRAMMY-winning vocal ensemble Tonality. Operatic roles include Papagena in The Magic Flute, Soeur Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Laetitia in The Old Maid and the Thief, and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi. Mariah graduated with a Master of Music from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB and received a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola Marymount University.

Mezzo-Soprano Sarah-Nicole Carter has been hailed by the L.A. Times as “simply wonderful” and by San Diego Story as a “fiery mezzo-soprano”. SN originated the role of 2nd Frida in the 2022 premiere of El último sueño de Frida y Diego at San Diego Opera. Other SDO roles include Suor Dolcina in Suor Angelica,  the mezzo in the two-woman opera Ascension, Giovanna in Rigoletto, and Kate in Pirates of Penzance.

Sarah-Nicole made her debut at the Kennedy Center performing La Lettre du jardinière  and her voice was featured in Netflix’s Chef’s Table. She has performed over 15 opera and musical theater roles in her long association with Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theater.  A specialist in comedic roles, Sarah-Nicole studied improvisation at the UCB Training Center and The Groundlings Theater & School. Kaitlin Barron Lupton graduated from the Manhattan School of Music (BM ’20). While in New York, she performed the Third Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at Opera America, and Le Prince Charmant in Massenet’s Cendrillion as the only undergraduate member of MSM’s outreach program, performing in schools all over the city. Kaitlin returned to her hometown in SoCal after her studies and now works for the La Jolla Music Society. As a new member of the San Diego Opera in the ’22/’23 season, she debuted as Guadalupe Ponti in the world premiere of El último sueño de Frida y Diego. 

Hannah Headland is a versatile mezzo-soprano who has performed with Pacific Symphony as Hansel in Hansel and Gretel and recently portrayed Meg in Falstaff with Lyric Opera of Orange County, marking Suor Angelica as her third production with the company. Other roles include the title role in Cenerentola, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Diana in The Fairy Queen, as well as performing with the San Diego Opera Chorus. In addition to performing, she teaches voice and assists with the Children’s Choir at Christ Cathedral, blending artistry and pedagogy in both settings.

Even Johnson, Mezzo-Soprano, is a Spotlight Awards semifinalist, first-place winner of the Center Stage Opera Vocal Competition, and three-time winner of the SCVA Vocal Competition. They have recently worked as a cover for Hansel for Lyric Opera of Orange County. Notable performances from the past few seasons include Cinderella with Opera in the Ozarks, Paula with Opera Chapman, and several appearances as a member of Tonality.
