It is with profound grief that we share the passing of our co-founder and Chair Emeritus, Robert Graulich, who left us earlier this month, surrounded by love.In eight years, Bob missed only one LOOC performance. He advertised, performed, stage managed, filed paperwork, ran front-of-house, ushered, and fundraised—whatever needed doing, he did it with enthusiasm and love. Initially self-identifying as “not-an-opera-guy,” he became a full convert, relishing every high note, evil laugh, and kick line on our stages.We would not be here without him. Bob’s belief, dedication, and unshakeable faith in what Lyric Opera OC could be remains our foundation. We will carry him with us to every performance.A celebration of life will be held in the coming months. Details to follow.
