Lyric Opera OC’s Artistic Director, Diana Farrell, has many irons in the fire throughout the opera world. A major project, (which Lyric Opera OC will help facilitate), is commissioning a composer for her libretto, written for the Assyrian Arts Institute as they prepare a brand new opera on a grand scale based on the Assyrian Epic of Gilgamesh. Diana serves as Producer on this groundbreaking project. We are so excited for this announcement, the first of many as we support AAI’s important work creating new art which celebrates the culture of the Assyrian people around the world.
